Middle School is Approaching

Middle school is approaching soon.

Believe it or not, in just 3 months your child will officially become a 6th grader. This week, we met one of Scarlet's counselors, and on Friday, we will meet one of Tappan's counselors.  The purpose of the counselor visit is to review middle school courses and electives-outline and answer basic questions.  Both representatives will distribute course selection sheets. These sheets must be completed and signed by the parent and child. Return sheet by the following week of the orientation.

Tappan is typically the middle school attended by Pattengill alumni; however, Scarlet is now considered an IB, International Baccalaureate school. Its IB status gives students an opportunity to attend Scarlet as a school of choice. Below are the dates for parent orientations for both schools.

In early May, we will visit Tappan to tour the building and meet the sixth grade team. If child will be attending 6th grade, there will be a tour of Scarlet as well on the same day. Please notify our school and Scarlet's office so that we can arrange transportation and tour guide for your child.
